Hangman
Classic hangman with smooth animations — guess letters to reveal the word before the stick figure is complete. Beautiful GSAP-powered visuals and responsive design.
About Hangman
Guess a letter. Either it appears in the hidden word, filling in its blank, or a new piece of the stick figure takes shape. The race is on before the drawing is complete. That tension — six wrong guesses and you're done — is exactly what made this a classroom staple for decades, and it holds up just as well in a browser tab.
The visuals do more than most word games bother with. GSAP-powered animations make each correct letter snap into place with a satisfying little flourish, and the hangman illustration builds piece by piece rather than jumping in whole. It's a small thing, but it makes every wrong guess feel genuinely dramatic. If you enjoy this kind of thinking game, there's plenty more to explore in games on Launch Arcade — including Launch Nonogram if you want another letter-free word-adjacent puzzle to follow up with.
Works entirely with keyboard input on desktop, so you can rattle through guesses without touching the mouse.
How to use
• Goal: Guess the hidden word by selecting letters before the hangman animation completes • Starting: Click "Play!" to begin, or first select a category (Food, Sports, etc.) and difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard) from the dropdown menus • Controls: Click letters on the on-screen alphabet to make guesses, or use your physical keyboard to type letters • Gameplay: Correct guesses reveal letter positions in the word. Wrong guesses advance the hanging animation and reduce your remaining guesses (shown as "5/5" in top bar) • Winning: Complete the word before running out of guesses to earn points and continue to the next word • Losing: If the rope animation completes, the game ends. View your final score and best score in the game over screen • Navigation: Click the home button (top left) to return to the main menu, or the sound button to toggle audio • Scoring: Points increase with each word solved. Your best score is saved automatically
